Welcome to The Unity Electric Blog!

Hello everyone and welcome to The Unity Electric Blog. My name is Collin Russell Mullins, I am a composer, producer, and musician based in Austin, Texas. Recently, I founded Unity Electric Productions and made the jump to working full-time in music production. With this companion blog, I will focus on all things music and audio production-past, present, and future. I’ll delve into topics ranging from classical composition to beat making and sample selection, plug-ins and hardware to music theory. Scoring and orchestration, to producing live rock bands. And of course I’ll dig into my own musical development, including my adventures and misadventures as a touring and studio musician, songwriter, and bandleader.

I’m going to do my best to include a little bit for the hardcore audio and music nerds like myself and get into the nuts and bolts. But I also want to keep it light and entertaining enough for those without a music or audio background to enjoy and maybe even learn a little. 

I also plan to cover topics like health, mental health, and addiction and how each of them have been a big part of my personal journey as a musician and creator. My hope is that, by sharing this part of my experience, I will be doing my small part to dismantle the stigma and damaging clichés found within the music and entertainment industry surrounding mental health and substance abuse.
